nPDP, Buhari Say’s He Will Not Hold Talks With Them

Muhammadu Buhari has said he is not available to hold talks with aggrieved nPDP members.
The president though he supports Yemi Osinbajo actions to resolve their issues with the APC.
Reports have suggested that Buhari will not be going to Ekiti state to campaign for Kayode Fayemi for Ekiti governorship election
President Muhammadu Buhari has declined to meet with members of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) who have threatened to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to alleged marginalization.
The nPDP was part of the group that joined alliance with the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) in 2014 to form the APC.
But in recent times, the group has alleged that it has been sidelined by the APC and sought a meeting with President Buhari to address its grievances.
However, the Nation reports that the president at a party meeting recently ruled out having a discussion with the aggrieved group on the basis that the issue is a party matter. Sources reportedly said Buhari noted that he was not disposed to getting involved in the matter.
He was quoted to have said: “I will not interfere.” He was said to have told governors at the meeting that they should deal with all issues as they are raised and where there is need, the party leadership can come in. He was also reported to have endorsed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s intervention which he said should continue.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari may not attend the campaign rally of Kayode Fayemi, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) slated for Tuesday, June 19, in Ekiti state.
Daily Independent reports that a presidency source said that the Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, will lead the delegation to the state on Tuesday, June 19.
NAIJ.com gathered that the source said: “The president is expected to close the campaign and not to open it”, which means he will only attend the grand finale of the campaign. Fayemi at the mega rally would be officially handed the party’s flag to contest the governorship election.
